I don't know what it is about these old weathered farm houses and barns that fascinates me, but I feel compelled to photograph them, much to the chagrin of my lovely wife who gets tired of me whipping U-turns on country roads because I saw an old farm house that "i just have to photograph...". She waits p...atiently mostly of the time and I love her for that, thanks babe. This one is in NW Washington state, about as NW as you can get without entering Canada or getting really, really wet.

This old truck has a flower bed in the engine compartment as well as the actual bed of the truck itself. Not the best angle to show this but it started pouring rain right after this shot.

The Crown Point Vista House was built in 1916 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With its marble interior and brass fixtures, some Oregonians at the time derided it as "The $100,000 Outhouse". It was apparently built as a woman's outhouse with a $17,000 budget that quickly ballooned to $100,000. The building serves mostly as a public restroom. It was recently refurbished and the interior was restored to its 1916 appearance; it reopened in 2005. From the top of Vista House, which is accessible by stairs, one can view Portland and Vancouver, Washington to the west. Beacon Rock, on the Washington side of the gorge, is visible to the east, as is a spectacular view of the Columbia Valley River Gorge.

I cannot tell you how many times I am driving down some country road and see something that is aesthetically pleasing to me and I think " I should turn around and take a photo"...well today I did. We did two drive byes, as the property was heavily posted and there was a house across the highway that looked occupied. After the first drive bye I stopped and got my camera settings ready and loaded my camera on the tripod. After that we raced back and I jumped out snapped of five shots and jumped back into the car and hightailed it outta there.

This is my sister in law's new husband Mike, I guess that makes him my brother in law squared...anyway he is great guy and a welcome addition to the family.

A wedding is an amazing event. Although my perception of the events and my direct relationship to the people getting married has changed throughout the years, the one thing that hasn't is that I remember every wedding I have ever been too, and enjoyed every one (some mere than others bet eh..). This is my sister in law, Lauren, and her new niece on Lauren's wedding day.

Another from the Neskowin Ghost Forest. I have driven by this place at least twenty times and never realized it was there. An indirect thank you goes out to Aaron Reed and Sarah22333, neither of whom I know, but both have inspired me to shoot this place and many others.

We saw this little girl the other day while shopping and grabbing some food on Hawthrone St. She was hiding in storefront doorways and running back and forth in front the skeleton/mannequin. She appeared to be alone (i'm sure her mother/father was busy shopping) and in this photo I imagine her following the mysterious man exiting the frame in the top right.

We met this little guy the other night when my wife and I went for a walk, He followed us for about a block before he lost interest and went back home.

Drove by this and had to stop and get a shot. I couldn't help but imagine this being a really sweet find for a homeless individual.
